Despite that rough treatment, it still works flawlessly.The battery life is another major plus. A single AA battery lasts me about 2-3 months with almost daily evening use, which means I rarely have to think about replacing it – a huge convenience for me. Performance-wise, the HERO 12K sensor delivers smooth and precise tracking, which has noticeably improved my accuracy in games. Pros:
- Oddly enough, I'd say they're actually underselling on the battery life - it seems to be more like 300-400hrs.
- The finish/texture of the plastic makes it extremely resistant to sweat buildup and easy to clean, more so than any other gaming mouse I've owned.
- Works reliably at a much greater distance than suggested
Cons:
- As a lot of other people mentioned, the scroll wheel is the big sticking point. It's not bad for general usage, but I've had to disable it as a keybind for swapping weapons in all games because it will occasionally read a random input or too many inputs when scrolling.
- When carelessly scrolling or using the middle mouse button, it is very easy to accidentally hit the DPI changer (which is located right behind the scroll wheel)
- The 2 main mouse buttons started to "fail" after about 2 years. I was ready to throw it out and give it a worse review sometime last year, but I happened to find a video that suggested lifting the mouse buttons up and putting 1 drop of lubricating oil on each of the square sensors that read the clicks. This instantly fixed the problems, and it's still working fine after another year of use.
All in all a solid mouse. It has some problems, but it's cheap and has lasted a long time so I'm willing to give it 4 stars.
