Just got my hands on the MX Master 3S, and I'm pretty impressed so far. The clicks are super quiet, which is a huge win for late-night work sessions. The scroll wheel feels smooth, and the customizable buttons are a lifesaver for productivity. Honestly, it's a solid upgrade from my previous mouse, and I'm already enjoying the experience.

The biggest pro in my opinion:
The 3S now has silent left/right click buttons, as well as a silent scroll wheel. This was my biggest complaint about the 2S, the clicks were loud and the scroll wheel's ratcheting function was even louder. Despite the silent clicks, the buttons still provide tactile feedback and does not feel mushy like the cheaper silent mice.

    Other improvements:
The main scroll wheel and side scroll wheel are now fully metal and do not have a rubber grip. On the 2S, the rubber grip deteriorates over time and becomes tacky, causing it to pick up dust and grime frequently. The 3S will be a lot easier to clean because of this.

The 3S is now even comfier to hold over extended use. The 3S feels better ergonomically over the 2S when comparing the two side by side. The finish on the 3S is softer than the 2S, and while it feels more premium, I am worried about how the material will hold up after a few years of daily use.

USB-C charging port. A small change, but much better than the micro-USB charging port on the 2S.

Changes I have mixed feelings on:
The placement of the forward/back thumb buttons is now placed below the horizontal scroll wheel. This change makes it so your thumb has to constantly go over the thumb buttons when using the horizontal scroll wheel. I'm sure this is something I'll get used to, but it's now a lot more likely that the thumb buttons will be pressed accidentally.

The bottom thumb button (gesture button) on the 3S is harder to actuate compared to the 2S. The area where you can press down for it to register a click is much smaller. This does prevent accidental clicks though, which is a problem that would occasionally happen with the 2S.

    Overall feelings:
I've been using the MX Master 2S daily for the past 6 years, and although it has held up well and still functions perfectly, the MX Master 3S is still a worthy upgrade. There are a couple minor changes that I don't necessarily love, but the improvements overall outweigh the cons. The silent clicks and scroll wheel on the 3S is an incredible improvement and I can't see myself wanting to go back to using the 2S.

I was using one of those smaller, flatter mice for my new laptop, I thought I'd be fine.

I wasn't, within two days I got the forearm pains. I tried my other more ergonomic mouse and the carpal tunnel went away within a few hours.

Don't buy a cheap mouse if you're on the computer for your career!

This one's built like a tank and is really comfortable, keeps my hand arched and eliminated the carpal pain I was getting from the bad mouse.

    Some things to note:
    - install the logitech software, it lets you assign the thumb wheel on the left to control magnification or other functions.
    - There's an otherwise invisible button you will NOT find unless you know it's there (the logitech software lets you know). It's pretty cool and useful.

I picked up the MX Master 3S Bluetooth version specifically for multitasking between Mac and Windows devices, and this thing has earned every bit of its praise. Full disclosure here, this is my 3rd MX Master 3s. One for work, one for home and now a replacement for the one at home that has started to mis-click. That said and while this is a premium built mouse, it's just not a gaming mouse so don't expect the 8k polling rates that will kill your computer resource allocations. This is a purpose-built productivity mouse that get the job done. The ergonomics are unmatched. After using this model mouse for years and this one specially for multi day long sessions- spreadsheets, coding, editing- I feel no strain. The materials are soft but sturdy, and the thumb rest and sculpted shape are exactly what I wanted.

Pairing over Bluetooth was instant and stable on both platforms. I’ve seen complaints about latency with some Bluetooth peripherals, but this one stays locked in and smooth. You can also use the Logi Bolt receiver if you want, but I’ve been fine without it.

What really makes the 3S legendary is the usability: the scroll wheel is an engineering feat. It switches from clicky to free-spin, and that smooth scroll in Excel or long docs is no small reason to buy. The side-scroll thumb wheel is perfect for timelines and horizontal navigation. Add in the gesture button under the thumb and you've got a mouse that adapts to how you work-not the other way around.

Now, let’s be clear: this does not have 8000 Hz polling. It’s not meant to. Bluetooth caps at 125 Hz, and even the Logi Bolt version maxes out at the same. That’s not a drawback- it's just not a gaming mouse. For productivity, the responsiveness is more than enough.

Battery life has been incredible. I've been using this model daily for weeks on a single charge and it still hasn't needed a top-off. It charges via USB-C, which is a much-needed upgrade from the micro-USB days of the 2S.

    Pros:
    comfortable for extended use
    Bluetooth switching across devices
    excellent scroll
    customizable buttons and gesture support
long battery life with fast USB-C charging

    Cons:
capped at 125 Hz polling rate (not for gaming)
no receiver included with Bluetooth version
high price point compared to standard mice

    Hot Take:
This mouse isn't trying to be everything. It’s just trying to be the best damn tool for real work-and it succeeds completely.
